self-paced course
Coming in Spring 2024!

After teaching this Fundamentals course live in-person and online for over six years, we will launch a rich and engaging digital course this Spring. As Non violent Communication is a relational practice, there will also be Community Calls where you can bring your questions and challenges.

Course completion will enable you to signup for the Applied NVC Program, which is being offered twice a year.

The first 10 Fundamentals ecourse enrolments will be FREE!

Do you want to learn practical skills for creating more authenticity and ease in your close relationships? To be able to look beyond challenging behaviours and connect with the humanity in those you care about most? To cultivate a calm, joyful centre from which to live life?

This 6-session interactive online workshop provides you with the basic principles & practices of Compassionate Communication (Nonviolent Communication or NVC). Together, we explore 4 core principles and the 4 part model of NVC with engaging activities allowing opportunity for practice and support. This virtual workshop is appropriate for those who are new to Nonviolent Communication or for those with experience who seek a fresh perspective.

You will learn and practice essential techniques that will deepen the trust and understanding vital to your close relationships. Skills such as somatic self-awareness and empathy for self and others will help you to manage your emotions and express your truth with more ease and connection. These invaluable communication tools will support you to hear what’s most important to your loved one, make clear requests and set healthy boundaries that increase connection and deepen your most valued relationships.

Online Format

We will use the Zoom Video Conference platform which provides easy-to-use tools to see and hear each other, watch visual presentations, and break into private paired and small group conversations. Accessible from your computer, tablet or smartphone, Zoom meetings are easy to join. We ask that you use a video-capable device, so you can participate fully in the Zoom features.

It is important that you can attend all sessions, as the material builds from session to session.

Session recordings will be made available to participants within 48 hours of the session. Recordings will be available for 4 weeks following the end of the course. Only facilitator and large group discussions are recorded. Breakout rooms are not recorded.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

  • The basic concepts and skills of NVC using real-world situations

  • Essential practices for self compassion

  • To move beyond unhelpful stories and judgments of yourself and others

  • Ways of communicating that create more understanding and connection

  • How to deepen your relationships through the power of empathy

This workshop is ideal for those who:

  • Are new to Nonviolent Communication (NVC)

  • Have some NVC experience and would like a fresh perspective

  • Are committed to attending and being fully present during all online sessions

  • Are open to transforming limiting habits or ways of communicating
