Welcome to the Applied NVC Program’s
Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question that is not addressed here or on the Applied NVC Program description page, please feel free to contact us.

Q: The program date/times don’t work for me. Will it be offered on another day (or time)?

A; Possibly! The scheduling is a blend of our needs and the needs we hear from others (you!), so please let us know any preferences you have around scheduling by completing this short survey - scheduling survey - (ie. what days/time generally work better for you) and we’ll take it into account for the scheduling of future programs.

Q: How do I access the calls? and are they live or pre-recorded?

A: The program is live, not pre-recorded, and calls are accessed online via the Zoom platform. Zoom provides easy-to-use tools to see and hear each other, watch visual presentations, and break into private paired and small group conversations. Accessible from your computer, tablet or smartphone, Zoom meetings are easy to join. To make the most of the Zoom features, we ask that you use a video-capable device whenever possible.

Q: What is an Empathy Partner?

A: An Empathy Partner is someone from your cohort that you are paired with for regular empathy partner calls. We offer guidance and a handbook to help you set up and maintain successful empathy partner calls. Empathy partner calls are scheduled by the empathy partners, often weekly, and are a powerful opportunity to practice giving and receiving empathy. Empathy is one of the key skills in NVC and having a supportive environment to practice and hone this skill will accelerate your capacity to use NVC in daily life. It is also a wonderful opportunity to receive empathic support for whatever is challenging you in life.

Q: What if I can’t make a session?

A: While we’ll miss you on the call, if you can’t make a session that’s ok. Sessions are recorded, so you can catch up on what you missed. See “Are the sessions recorded?” Q&A for more information about recordings.

Q: Are the sessions recorded?

A: Yes, the sessions are recorded. Recordings are available exclusively to participants for listening for 6 months following the conclusion of the program. If during a call, you are speaking and would like to not be recorded, please ask for the recording to be paused. We do utilize the Zoom breakout room feature and breakout rooms are not recorded.

Q: What’s the cancellation / refund policy?

A: For the Program – Cancellations received more than 7 days before the start of the program are eligible for a full refund, less an administration fee of $50. Cancellations received between 7 days and 48 hours from the start of the series are transferable and non-refundable. Transferable means that for six (6) months following the program start date, non-refundable fees can be transferred to either another person, another course, or to 1:1 session(s). No refunds or transfers are available within 48 hours of the program start.

A: For Empathic Coaching Sessions – To honour our shared commitment to your appointment time, we maintain a 24-hour cancellation / rescheduling policy*. More than 24 hours in advance, appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled online using the link provided in the confirmation email. Within 24-hours of appointment time, there is no rescheduling or refunds for missed or cancelled appointments.
